Our program engages community members in high-quality service experiences at King County parks with the goal of building connections and engaging in the health of our parks. Together with our partners, we lead an average of 10,000 volunteers per year who perform restoration, park enhancements, and trail construction and maintenance. We incorporate environmental education into every event, to make for a rewarding and productive day in the park.

We have a free public event coming up on June 4 in partnership with Parkour Visions that we would like to share with the White Center community. This special event is focused on connecting to White Center Heights Park through environmental restoration and play. The event includes 3 hours of learning about the plants and animals of the park, digging up weeds and l spreading compost mulch with an option to stay for an hour of parkour. Parkour Visions staff lead the parkour portion of the event and attendees will receive instruction in the basics of parkour, such as basic jumping, landing, climbing and leaping techniques. We ask interested volunteers to register before the event so that we can plan our tools accordingly and ensure that all volunteers have the information they need for the day.

For more information and to register, go to: Volunteer at King County Parks

When: Saturday, June 4, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
