Firefighters help elderly woman escape Rohnert Park House fire – CBS San Francisco

ROHNERT PARK (BCN) – Crews put out a fire that started in a car inside the garage of a house in Rohnert Park on Thursday afternoon, according to the city’s Public Safety Department.

The fire was reported at 1:28 p.m. in the 7200 block of Circle Drive, where public safety officers arrived and saw thick smoke billowing from the garage. An officer helped an elderly woman out of the house and the crews contained the flames in the garage.

Investigators determined that an issue with a battery in the vehicle inside the garage caused a fire, public safety officials said.

The American Red Cross has been called to help the family find alternative accommodation.
